Postage & Packaging

Learn tips and best methods to post and package your products.

How to package your products

We recommend keeping all boxes that retailers send to you, so you can simply remove your address and send the product to the customer in its original packaging. However, sometimes this is not possible if you order in bulk, etc. To ensure you provide the best practice for shipping and the cheapest be sure to follow this guide. Sneakers: If you cannot re-use the box your sneaker box came in you can use bubble wrap to wrap around the sneaker box, then you can use packaging paper or another spare box if you have one available to ship. Note: Do not use any sellotape on the actual sneaker box itself, it will damage the box when a customer tries to open it. Small or nonfragile products: Small parcels or products that are not easily broken can be shipped using just bubble wrap and packaging paper. Simply wrap the product in bubble wrap and then wrap it in packaging paper, ensure you have space to place your shipping label! Larger or fragile items: Ensure you use boxes for these items along with lots of bubble wrap, we personally recommend 2 layers of wrap depending on the quality of your bubble wrap. You may get away with packaging paper for larger items such as PS5 consoles if you use a good amount of bubble wrap and it is covered fully. Use your own judgment, and remember the journey your packages go through. Shipping labels Some shipping companies offer FREE shipping label printing services such as Royal Mail or DPD. However, most delivery companies will require you to print it off yourself. You can do this using a printer and you can sellotape the label onto the packaging. Or if you want to be super professional you can purchase a label printer, but this is not required. Final process Some delivery companies require you to measure and weigh your parcels, others you can estimate this figure. We strongly recommend you do this accurately as they may refuse or charge you extra for incorrect measurements. You can use a home scale or, you can just google the weight of the product you're sending which will give you the weight required. Finally, always get your shipment ready before you arrange a pick-up just in case something happens. Additionally, always check to see if everything is fully secured and sellotaped well and the shipping label is secured. Delivery Options

Different delivery companies can be beneficial to you in different scenarios. Royal Mail: Royal Mail offers one of the cheapest rates with compensation of up to £500.00, not only that but they offer free home collection & labelling services meaning you do not need to print any shipping labels out + not even leave your home. If you would like to take advantage of their labelling services without the home collection, you can also purchase online and take the QR code to your local DELIVERY OFFICE and they will print the label off and stick it on the parcel. Despite the current ongoing strikes, Royal Mail is by far the most reliable delivery service with a low chance of parcels being lost or severally delayed. https://send.royalmail.com/ For small parcels up to 2KG, 24-hour tracked with £100 compensation it's £3.95. For medium parcels up to 2KG, 24-hour tracked with £100 compensation it's £5.95. For medium parcels up to 10KG, 24-hour tracked with £100 compensation it's £6.95. For medium parcels up to 10KG, next-day delivery with £500 compensation it's £14.45. UPS: UPS is great when other delivery options are slow due to strikes or you would like to send a larger parcel at a cheap price. From £5.27, UPS offers discounted shipping rates for small businesses which you can sign up to. Prices are all different so you will need to get a quote, https://www.ups.com/gb/en/smallbusiness/home.page. Weight is not taken into account with UPS as long it meets the maximum limit, but you must correctly measure the package. Use coupon code 'GREENUPS' at checkout when you purchase shipping. Reminder: You can also request FREE shipping supplies when you use UPS. Home collection or parcel drop-off points are available with UPS. DPD DPD can be seen as a reliable service, however, prices are usually more expensive in most cases. You can sign up for their business service which will give you discounted rates but you will need to be a regular parcel sender to be eligible. You can find out DPD rates starting from £12.50, https://www.dpd.com/nl/en/shipping/. Home collection or parcel drop-off points are available with DPD. Evri Previously named Hermes, Evri has a very bad reputation when it comes to parcel delivery. From parcels being stolen, to bad customer service We do not recommend using this service for high-value goods but it can be a cheap alternative for low-value goods. From £2.69 their rates can be cheap until you add parcel insurance. The perks of Evri can be using their 24/7 parcel lockers which can fit around your busy schedule, where Evri drivers can pick your parcel up. They offer home collection and parcel drop-off points all around the country. https://www.evri.com/. Parcel comparison websites There are many comparison websites you can use to get the cheapest quote for your parcel, measurements, and weight is required. Some services may even offer you discounts for being a new member. https://parcelbroker.co.uk/ https://www.parcelhero.com/ https://www.parcel2go.com/ https://www.myparceldelivery.com/
